What is SCASCA?

SCASCA is a non-profit organization. Membership has grown from 13 members in 2002 to over 45 members in 2015. We are represented by single and multi-specialty facilities with 1 to 8 operating rooms.

SCASCA holds quarterly membership meetings for members to meet and network with each while receiving important industry updates. Please visit the events page here for the next meeting date and location.

The mission of SCASCA is to:

  •     Establish acceptable standards of care and outcome benchmarks of ASCs in South Carolina.
  •     Promote staffing effectiveness and efficiencies through professional development and skills assessment.
  •     Promote benefits of ASCs among the public and medical community.
  •     Explore and promote new technologies and treatment modalities, which utilize SCASCA.
  •     Assess existing state laws and regulations, which apply to ASCs and make appropriate recommendations to     regulatory agencies.
  •     Collaborate with other health care organizations towards achieving common goals and meeting the needs of the health care consumer.

Why Should You Join SCASCA?

Dramatic changes are reshaping the Ambulatory Surgery Center industry. ASCs are in a difficult place with the government and private payors putting pressure on revenues and price inflation putting pressure on expenses. Well informed and pro-active ASCs are fighting back by constantly evolving their surgery center with knowledge, technology and efficient practices.

The South Carolina Ambulatory Surgery Center Association is a critical link in keeping your ASC on the cutting edge. Stay up to date with best practices; maintain current information on government and private payers; and gain a strong connection to other ASCs who are learning and growing just like you.

A Source for Vital Information

As the statewide association representing all facets of the ASC industry, SCASCA has a wealth of knowledge that it efficiently and accurately passes along to its members. In addition, members are able to learn from other members by accessing the network that SCASCA has formed. Members can also meet and interact with each other at the semi-annual conferences and at quarterly membership meetings. SCASCA organizes seminars on clinical and business topics at every meeting. There is something for everyone. Additionally, nurses can earn continuing education contact hours at the conferences.
